That light fixture is now gone, sadly.

School's been out less than a week, and the beauty of relative freedom is already beginning to fade. I'm feeling kind of bored with myself and the only thing that will certainly fire me up is eating stuff like ice cream. That ain't good--not with my 30th high school reunion coming up in a few months.

I need to read up about the new grade levels I'll be teaching, and I need to read the books, and of course I need to finish my spring evaluations. Just in writing up the ones for creative writing, I realize how really difficult that class was this year. Those kids almost wore me down. So much chatter and unwillingness from the major players. Man.

I was so excited about having the chance to get all kinds of things repaired, get the house painted, pack up sackfuls of clutter and move it on out. And I'm already feeling sluggish and unmotivated--just like I did when I was a kid out of school for the summer.

I guess it's time to renew the meditation practice. Oh yeah.
