Parent-teacher conferences are uniquely trying and yet important parts of the school year. Face-to-face communication about the students is generally helpful, but there is a strange tension that wrings the life-force out of me every time. Nobody really understands it except for other teachers who've been through it.
Just like everything else. I need a therapist.

it's just not fun. being with students is (mot of the time) a great deal of fun. being with their parents never is.
