I just spent three hours on the phone with a very kind and patient tech expert in the Phillipines (spelling, please) who helped me get my wireless router (thank you, Linksys) up and running.
I am tired. I have to get up in a few hours and get ready for another week of teaching English to seventh and eighth graders.
We had an incident at our little school last week where a few students went online and created a web page with half a dozen or so nasty little comments about other students. I think this thing is happening a lot these days, and it brought lots of drama to our school and all the students. Too bad the internet is such a fantastic and amazing resource (how did teachers do it in the days before broadband?) (I guess they went to the library). Some kids just have to do dopey things. Oh well. I guess plenty of adults do dopey things, too.
As for me, I'm pooped. I didn't finish my correcting of papers this weekend like I'd planned. The kids will just have to wait one more day. On one hand I don't think this is the end of the world; on the other, I feel like I am just not the greates teacher if I don't have a reasonably quick turn-around on getting papers back.
I hope they'll be sympathetic.
Tomorrow is Monday. And the beginning of February. Where did this year go?
