I'm planning some changes for next year.
For instance, I've got to pound some basic grammar into these kids well before winter break. I've got to do it in a fun (well, more or less) way.
I've got to get them to learn how to write interesting topic sentences with logical, compelling introductory paragraphs that follow.
I've got to get them to hunker down with some seriously atrocious spelling.
Is it incorrect to say I've got to do something? Should I have written I have to pound some basic grammar into these kids? Oh my. Please don't shoot me, I'm only the English teacher.
I need a break. I need to read some good books that are only about my interests. I need to be acutely selfish for a while. I need to walk my poor little dog. I have got to find a swimming pool. I have got a great and tremendous thirst for summer vacation.
I want to see Paris, Je T'aime and Brooklyn Rules. I don't think I need to see Pirates... I want to read Cold Comfort Farm with the cover illustration by Roz Chast.
I met my husband 24 years ago on Memorial Day at a drunken party at my sister's house. That seems really long! What the hell? Where did the time go? What happened? Criminey.
