We are in finals/fun time. Last finals happen tomorrow, then it's trips to the beach and LA Sports Park (that's the middle school). Then writing up evaluations and grades, then the two-week workshop, then vacation.

I kind of hate how attached I've become to the students, pretty much all of them. Because they will not be my students next year as I move to the middle school to teach English there. I have a special place in my heart for seventh and eighth graders, but I will really miss these juniors and seniors (and a few lowerclasspersons) who have wormed their adolescent ways into my heart.

Some of them are so damn funny, intentionally, for the most part, and otherwise. I have really loved being with them, most of the time. Some of them are such wonderful writers. Some of them have such luminous souls. Parting is such sweet sorrow.
